eTherapy is a way to establish two-way counseling relationships without being face to face. Currently, the easiest way to do this is via email. Live chat is also available.
eTherapy is not suitable for everybody. The major advantages are anonymity, speed, and convenience. However, you must be able to express yourself well through written words, and be open about your thoughts and emotions. The therapist will not be able to see your body language or interpret facial cues. eTherapy lends itself very well to simple problems, cognitive therapy, and various confidential issues. Sometime short eTherapy sessions are useful to get general opinions and advice without having to provide extensive background.
